Body & Neck
The body is non-weight relieved mahogany, with a gorgeous AA figured
maple top and a striking cherry sunburst that'll have you transfixed
from the offset. The maple top also adds a little sparkle to an already
characterful sound without compromising the typical resonance you'd
expect from traditional mahogany Les Pauls.
The neck features the traditional Gibson rounded profile with a
luxurious rosewood fretboard. The use of mahogany in both the neck and
the body is what gives these guitars their famed neverending sustain -
every note sings like you wouldn't believe!
Pickups & Electronics
The Burstbucker is based on the ground-breaking PAF formula, and aims
to recreate the tone that put Gibson on the proverbial map. Here you've
got a BB1 in the neck that perfectly compliments the rich combination
of woods. In the bridge you have a slightly hotter BB2, designed to give
you heaps of extra bite without adding any noise. The hand-wired
electronics feature orange drop capacitors, famous amongst luthiers for
being a crucial ingredient in truly vintage tones.
Hardware
You may have also noticed the beautiful but understated nickel-plated
hardware and kluson-style tuners that Gibson have opted for. The ABR
bridge and stop-bar are made of aluminium, a surprisingly resonant
material - combine these elements and you have a polished, authentically
traditional look with stunning tonal qualities to match.
