Classic Custom '72 Telecaster
Since 1946, the name Fender has become synonymous with all things
rock 'n' roll: from Buddy Holly to Jimi Hendrix to Eric Clapton to Kurt
Cobain and everything in between. Fender's iconic instruments such as
the Telecaster, are known the world over as the instruments that started
the rock revolution, and they continue to be highly prized among
today's hottest guitarists and collectors alike. Notable Telecaster
players include Muddy Waters; Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones;
Jimmy Page (on Led Zeppelin's studio recordings); Andy Summers of the
Police; Jonny Greenwood, Thom Yorke and Ed O'Brien of Radiohead; Prince;
Bruce Springsteen; Roy Buchanan; and The Edge of U2 has also begun to
use a Telecaster on a regular basis.
1972 was a magical year for the Telecaster guitar. With several new
designs, the Telecaster guitar was available with more options than ever
before. The '72 Tele Thinline features a warmer and rounder,
semi-hollow ash body, "U"-shape maple neck, Bullet truss rod, '70s
vintage hardtail strings-through Strat bridge, three-bolt neckplate, and
two Fender "Wide Range" humbucking pickups. The Thinline Tele not only
has a sound all it own, but it's also lighter
