Fender's Telecaster was the world's first production model solid body
electric guitar. It brought the guitar to the front as a mainstream
instrument, with players praising it for its affordable price,
trendsetting looks and reliability. Armed with the Telecaster, artists
like Jimmy Page and Keith Richards went on to shape the very history of
rock 'n' roll, and countless blues and country music legends have
wielded Teceasters too. Vintage and modern collide in this Classic
series Telecaster, designed by the Fender Custom Shop Master Builders.
At a casual glance, the Classic Player Baja looks much like a regular
Classic 60s Tele, but on closer examination, some special features come
to the fore. These include an alder body (rather than the usual ash)
which gives you a fuller, warmer sound, '58 and '52 American Vintage
single-coil pickups, a special 4-position blade switch and a 2-position
S-1 switch, giving you tonal options ranging from classic Tele to series
and parallel out-of-phase tones to special fat tones and high-output
settings, and a 60's C shaped neck with Pau Ferro fretboard. The result
of direct collaboration between the Custom Shop and Fender’s top-notch
Mexico factory, this is your chance to own a Telecaster with Custom Shop
features at a modest price.
