Andy Timmons Signature ATZ Model
First-call guitarists like Andy Timmons need access to lots of tones,
and that’s exactly what his signature Ibanez ATZ100 provides. DiMarzio
Cruiser pickups deliver humbucker output with single-coil harmonic
overtones, while a 5-way switch and tone, neck tone, and volume knobs
give you access to an endless array of sonic textures. Benefit from
extreme stability and playability, courtesy of an S-Tech Wood roasted
maple neck and fingerboard, while an ATZ back shape ensures maximum
playing comfort. Enjoy vibrato, warbles, and other classic whammy
effects, along with rock-solid intonation, thanks to a Wilkinson-Gotoh
VSVG vintage-style synchronized tremolo. Gotoh locking tuners round out
the ATZ100’s top-shelf feature set.
S-Tech Wood roasted maple neck offers stability and durability
The ATZ100’s roasted maple neck was subjected to Ibanez’s S-Tech Wood
nitrogen-heating treatment, which increases its stability, durability,
water resistance, and tolerance to temperature changes. The neck is then
sealed with oil, resulting in a well-played feel. And it’s supremely
comfortable — its ATZ shape is a bit thicker than on most Ibanez
guitars, so it fills your hand nicely, while providing a more modern
feel. Andy Timmons is a first-rate musician, and he has impeccable taste
— the guitarists here at Sweetwater love the feel and playability of
his signature ATZ100.
High-octane tone from DiMarzio humbuckers
The Ibanez ATZ100 comes loaded with three DiMarzio Cruiser
humbuckers. These single-coil-sized, dual-blade pickups exhibit the same
harmonic overtones as a standard single-coil, along with open,
vocal-sounding mids. That said, you’ll benefit from humbucker-like
output with loads of modern, low-end chunk. You’ll also enjoy added
sustain, thanks to their low magnet pull. Beyond that, a 5-way blade
switch, along with tone, neck tone, and volume knobs, unlocks a whole
universe of useful tones. Andy Timmons is a versatile guitarist, and his
signature guitar is equally as versatile — whatever tone you’re hearing
in your head, the ATZ100 can achieve it.
Wilkinson-Gotoh VSVG tremolo provides excellent tuning stability
Developed in collaboration with Gotoh, the ATZ100’s Wilkinson-Gotoh
VSVG tremolo is a vintage-style synchronized tremolo with superior
tuning stability and enhanced sustain. It includes stamped saddles and a
6-screw design — although, per Andy’s preference, only four of the six
screws are installed. Thanks to the ATZ100’s VSVG tremolo, executing
vibrato, warbles, and other expressive whammy effects is a breeze.
