The
PRL-8311-C0 is a set of Ratio Locking Tuned Machine Heads for an
electric guitar that uses three a side tuners. It has a contemporary
shaped button, has a two pin casing and is finished in chrome.
The Simple Genius Behind The Ratio® Tuned Machine Heads is it's
utilization of its patented multi-gear technology. Every string on your
guitar responds differently to tension. In other words, the plain G
string jumps in pitch to small amounts of tension while the D string
(with a thinner core) requires more turns on the machine head to get the
same pitch change.
Graph Tech has tuned the gear ratios to each string position so that
every string responds the same to any tuning adjustment anywhere from
12:1 to 39:1 gear ratio. It's as dramatic as switching from a manual
transmission on a car to an automatic. No more thinking about which
string you are tuning! With Ratios, one turn is about one tone change on
every string, making tuning, retuning and open tunings easier, quicker
and more intuitive.
