The
Sterling by Music Man Stingray guitar is a beautiful look back at the
original Fender Music Man guitar design that built the entire Music Man
brand. With a simple double cutaway design, dual humbucker pickups and a
vintage tremolo system this guitar mixes the best of both the S and
Single cutaway guitars of the 50's and 60's and loads it all in to one
guitar.
Music Man Feel
While the look is very classic S type in
its own funky way the Stingray still feels like its own instrument. This
comes from the neck which has a rather flat 12" Radius fretboard and a
quite close string spacing that Music Man players will instantly
recognise. In a way this is an astonishing in-between point of those
traditional 50's guitars and a more ergonomic, modern design.
Dual Humbuckers
The
humbuckers on this guitar were designed by Music Man to deliver a
traditional humbucker tone in a lighter and more ergonomic shape than
the inspiration. These things sound great with plenty of warm low end
and a mid-gain output that suit rock, pop and blues styles.
